The Linux Foundation has introduced a collaborative organization named Supporters of Chromium-Based Browsers, aimed at empowering open-source projects affiliated with Chromium to thrive and access relevant resources.
Key members joining this initiative include industry leaders like Google, Microsoft, and Opera, who are pivotal in the development of widely used Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome and Edge.
With nearly 30 browsers currently based on Chromium, including prominent names like Brave, Duckduckgo, and Vivaldi, this collective effort is positioned to significantly aid their development.
According to Ars Technica, Meta, the parent of Facebook, has also committed to supporting this collaboration, reinforcing the significance of this initiative among major tech players.
