ESB Networks repair crews and local authority teams have been working around the clock to restore power connections and reopen roads affected by Storm Ashley's high winds and flooding.
At the peak of Storm Ashley, over 53,000 homes and businesses were left without power, primarily along the west coast, including Galway, Cork, and Donegal.
Despite fears of coastal flooding in several regions, damage assessments revealed that while there was notable disruption due to fallen trees, no significant structural damage occurred.
Council experts are conducting safety assessments of trees near roadways, as many were critically weakened by Storm Ashley, posing potential hazards for commuters.
