Stolen art mysteriously returned in Somerville

Two pieces of artwork stolen from a Somerville exhibit were returned anonymously to local artist Adam Leveille shortly after he received a voicemail about their return. The police have confirmed that the artwork was recovered, but the suspect remains unidentified. Leveille expressed relief that his painting, titled "Nissenbaum, midday," was returned largely unscathed and noted the unsettling feeling of knowing a thief may have knowledge of his location. Surveillance footage revealed the theft occurred in the early hours of January 5.
I can get your paintings returned to you," the caller told Leveille in the voicemail.
I ran down in my pajama pants and...lo and behold, both pieces were there!" Leveille recalled.
it's "slightly unsettling" the alleged thief may know where he lives.
the stolen artwork had been returned but declined to comment further, "as the identity of the suspect remains under investigation."
