Staley's $25M deal richest in women's hoops
Briefly

“Dawn Staley is a once-in-a-generation coach who has made a tremendous impact on the University of South Carolina. She has elevated the sport of women's basketball on the national level and here on campus, and I am excited that she will be representing our University for many years to come.” - Jeremiah Donati, athletics director.
“Since taking over the program in 2008, Dawn Staley has guided the Gamecocks to three national championships, and they are an impressive 165-15 in SEC regular-season play since the 2013-14 season.”
With her contract extension, Staley's annual salary begins at $4 million and totals around $25.25 million over the life of the contract, making her the highest-paid coach in women's basketball.
Staley, Auriemma, Mulkey, and Frese are the only active coaches to have won NCAA championships in women's basketball, highlighting Staley's elite status in the sport.
