Sony to Offer PlayStation Plus Users Five-Day Extension After Global Outage
Briefly

Sony announced that it would grant PlayStation Plus members five extra days of service following an 18-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that occurred recently. The outage left users unable to log in, play games, or utilize the online store. Although PSN was restored by Saturday evening, the outage impacted thousands of users both in the US and UK. Past disruptions of PSN, including significant outages in 2014 and 2011, have prompted concern among gamers, making this latest interruption a notable event.
"Network services have fully recovered from an operational issue. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank the community for their patience," the company stated.
"PlayStation is back up again after being down for a whole day. Sony at least saved millions of Gamers their Sunday right after ruining their Saturday," a user posted.
