Soliddd is showcasing a prototype of its SolidddVision glasses, which are designed specifically for individuals with macular degeneration, a condition impacting 13% of U.S. residents over 40.
The smartglasses utilize unique lens arrays that mimic a fly's eye, projecting multiple images to undamaged areas of the retina, allowing for better visual acuity.
Despite being in beta with a different appearance than final renders, Soliddd aims to make the glasses resemble standard eyeglasses for user comfort.
Soliddd anticipates shipping the glasses sometime in 2025, although the device will not require FDA approval before going to market.
