SJ family desperate to find father's ashes after USPS delivered them to wrong address
Briefly

A mother and son in San Jose are devastated after the U.S. Postal Service mistakenly delivered their deceased husband and father's cremated remains to the wrong address. Michael Voorhees, who passed away from cancer, was to have his ashes shared among loved ones, but the family was left in distress when the tracking showed delivery at an incorrect location. The USPS is investigating the mix-up, and a statement expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the grieving family as they prepare for a celebration of life.
"We investigated and we found out that USPS had delivered the ashes but to a different address," she said.
"My son is the one who's really distraught," Garcia said. "We're having a celebration of life for him and then we're not going to have the ashes."
