Sinn Fein member resigns after admitting involvement in former Belfast Mayor's portrait being damaged in city hall incident

A Sinn Féin employee involved in vandalizing the portrait of former Councillor Wallace Browne has been suspended and subsequently resigned from the party.

Reports of criminal damage were made to the PSNI, which launched an investigation into the vandalism of the artwork at Belfast City Hall.

The incident occurred during a celebration event for a west Belfast Irish language group, leading to calls for a full investigation by the DUP.
