Iran retaliated by striking at least one U.S. military installation, including a Navy base in Bahrain housing the 5th Fleet. Air defense systems in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan intercepted Iranian missile fire. President Trump stated the objective is freedom for the Iranian people. Military operations are expected to continue through the weekend, with casualties and civilian damage still being assessed.
