Authorities in eastern and southern Spain are closing schools and evacuating residents in response to ongoing torrential rains just two weeks after devastating floods claimed 215 lives.
Aemet spokesperson Ruben del Campo warned of the potential severity, saying, "There could be torrential rains on Wednesday in Mediterranean areas, especially in Tarragona and Malaga, where red warnings have been issued."
The regional government of Valencia has been criticized for its disaster response, advising councils to close schools and recommend remote work as they brace for more severe weather conditions.
