Jose Zamora, a 14-year-old freshman at Santa Clara High School, tragically took his own life after enduring relentless bullying for being homeless and raised by a single father.
"They were spitting on him, hitting him on the back of the helmet," his father said through tears, highlighting the severe bullying that led to his son's devastating choice.
Santa Clara Unified School District and local authorities stated they are actively investigating the bullying allegations, emphasizing their commitment to addressing these serious issues within the school.
Superintendent Gary Waddell reassured the community, saying, "We in no way condone bullying, harassment, or retribution of any kind and take any such allegations seriously."
