"Queer women's history is just not recorded or honored to the extent that the history of cis people or men," Shutzer told SFGATE in a Zoom interview.
"We thought this was this great opportunity in our neighborhood to do this," said Shutzer about documenting the history of Mother's bar.
"The joy comes across in the footage of the bar's packed opening night," highlighting the excitement around Mother's debut.
