Raft of changes made to Loughton housing estate as part of Safer Streets project

Epping Forest District Council has released a six-month update on their Safer Streets project in the Oakwood Hill estate, receiving a total of £308,500 in funding. Initiatives include increased CCTV coverage, improved street lighting, effective weed management, and environmental enhancements through graffiti removal. Four new cameras were added in December 2023, with plans for more installations by March 2025. Community engagement efforts have been boosted through youth activities and the proposal of a youth club for local residents. Additionally, the council has increased patrols to enforce public space regulations and improve safety.
