A family-run restaurant in Concord, Lima, is set to close after nearly nine years due to financial difficulties from settling a discrimination lawsuit over its 'Ladies Night' promotion.
John Marquez, the owner of Lima, stated, 'It's a frivolous lawsuit that took us down. It's just ambulance-chasing lawyers,' lamenting that they couldn't recover from the financial hit.
Marquez expressed shock at the lawsuit, saying, 'I was a lot. I see ladies night everywhere and out of the state, so yes I was shocked by it.'
Gender-based promotions like 'Ladies Nights' can lead to significant legal troubles, as highlighted by the restaurant's struggles and similar lawsuits across the nation.
