On Thursday morning, Berkeley police launched an investigation into a potential kidnapping attempt after a mother reported that a man and a woman in a large white van tried to abduct her 10-year-old son as they were walking along Addison Street.
Officer Byron White stated that the mother didn’t recognize the suspects, and despite the alarming nature of the incident, police believe there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
