More than 500,000 Fortnite players are set to receive payments from Epic Games following a $245 million FTC ruling that they used deceptive purchasing methods.
The FTC accused Epic Games of employing 'dark patterns' that misled customers into making unintended purchases, including blocking accounts of those who disputed charges.
Epic's deceptive tactics included confusing button configurations that led players to make purchases accidentally while interacting with the game.
To file a claim for a refund, players must have made unwanted purchases or had unauthorized charges made by minors between specified dates.
