Mohammed, a 22-year-old Palestinian, returned to northern Gaza after enduring 15 months of displacement caused by the Israel-Hamas war. As part of a ceasefire agreement, he and over half a million Palestinians made the difficult journey north on foot, only to discover their home in ruins. Despite the challenging conditions, including lack of resources on the journey, Mohammed's experience underscores the immense suffering faced by those displaced by ongoing conflict and the harsh realities of returning to destroyed homes after such an ordeal.
We waited until 9 in the morning until we understood that there was a huge offensive, after Hamas entered Israeli lands, and (Israel) launched a full-scale war on the Gaza strip.
I left it for approximately one-and-a-half years, and returned to find it in ruins, it was very difficult, a horrible feeling.
