Orange warning for 'significant snowfall' in five counties, as Met Eireann adds more counties to yellow snow and ice warning

The orange warning for counties Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford will come into effect from 12am on Thursday and remain in place until 12pm.
Impacts in the affected counties will include very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, travel disruption, likely disruption to public transport services, difficult conditions underfoot and animal welfare issues.
Conditions will turn milder and more unsettled over the weekend, as temperatures continue to plummet with warnings of snow accumulations across Munster.
Met Éireann has warned temperatures could drop as low as -4 degrees tonight, with widespread frost and icy stretches expected overnight.
