"If you are going to weight things towards party size then the medium sized groupings should be getting more time than the one TD operations," Mr O'Callaghan said.
"If RTÉ were doing that deliberately and they were, I think they should have explained that to people, being very transparent on that," he added.
"It was a long session. It was intense, and I think the format probably could have been improved upon, if I'm honest," Ms Bacik said.
"Invite all ten along and give equal time is probably the best way to do it and then have your separate event for the three [larger parties]," he added.
