Official investigation into Thales after bribery and corruption suspicions
Briefly

A source told Reuters that Britain's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has initiated the official investigation into suspected bribery and corruption by Thales related to a defense contract in Asia.
Thales has confirmed the investigation is underway and emphasized its cooperation, stating, 'The group complies with all national and international regulations. As the investigation is on-going, Thales will not comment further.'
SFO director Nick Ephgrave mentioned, 'Working collaboratively with our international partners is a crucial factor in the fight against international corruption... we will together rigorously pursue every avenue in our investigation into these serious allegations.'
The official investigation follows previous police raids on Thales's European offices, which were conducted last summer over suspicions related to corruption in military equipment supply to Brazil.
