Esraa Hezain, 35, claims she was seriously injured by a scalding beverage spilled during a flight from JFK to Cairo, after significant turbulence.
According to the lawsuit, the flight crew failed to suspend beverage service prior to turbulence, which directly contributed to the incident.
Hezain alleges multiple tray tables were in disrepair, and her own did not maintain a level position, increasing the risk of spills.
Hezain's attorney remarked, 'For the price of a lid this didn't have to happen,' highlighting negligence on behalf of EgyptAir.
