NYC airport food is about to get even more expensive
Briefly

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey proposes that airport concessions raise prices by 7.5% by 2025 to cover rising labor costs, impacting travelers significantly.
Currently, airport concessions can charge up to 10% above street prices. This proposal would raise that cap to 15% and introduce a 3% surcharge for employee benefits.
As part of the wage increase plan, airport workers' hourly pay, currently at $19, is set to rise by 75 cents in January 2025, followed by further increases.
By January 2027, airport worker wages will increase with the regional Consumer Price Index, potentially reaching $25 by September 2032 if not already met.
