Nintendo buys remaining four percent of Monolith Soft, as a little treat
Briefly

Nintendo has completed its acquisition of Monolith Soft, gaining full ownership of the studio known for the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise and its support on major Nintendo titles.
Founded in 1999 by Hirohide Sugiura, Tetsuya Takahashi and Yasuyuki Honne, Monolith Soft initially created the Xenosaga series, later becoming integral to Nintendo's game development.
After purchasing 80 percent of Monolith Soft's shares from Bandai Namco in 2007, Nintendo incrementally increased its holdings until acquiring complete ownership in November 2023.
Though originally holding 4 percent as a symbolic gesture, Monolith's founders relinquished their last shares to Nintendo, solidifying the latter's control over the studio.
