Dunedin Airport has introduced a lighthearted policy limiting drop-off goodbyes to three minutes, encouraging quick farewells to reduce congestion at the airport.
The CEO, Dan De Bono, emphasized the fun aspect of the new sign stating, 'We're trying to have fun with it... We've caused quite a stir.'
While enforcement of the time limit will be gentle, De Bono mentioned the goal is to send a message for timely departures: 'it's more the message of please move on.'
Dunedin's approach follows Aalborg Airport's similar three-minute goodbye policy, showcasing a growing trend in airport etiquette focused on efficiency and humor.
