Miranda Massie, the Climate Museum's founder, stated, "So many people want to get involved in civic action on climate, but don't know what to do. The arts have a unique capacity to help people recognise their own agency-we see this every day we have an exhibition up. A permanent space means more empowerment for more people. Nothing could be more meaningful to us."
The Climate Museum has staged 13 exhibitions since its founding in 2015, including a recent presentation on the impact of fossil fuels titled The End of Fossil Fuel (2023-24). This show explored the intertwined nature of social and environmental justice and highlighted the museum's commitment to raising awareness about critical climate issues.
As the Climate Museum awaits the completion of its new construction, it is actively seeking a temporary space for a two- to three-year lease to continue its mission of climate education and activism while providing a platform for engagement with the community.
