New Cybertruck Wrap Adds Solar Panels All Over It
Briefly

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been promising a solar roof for the Cybertruck since 2019, claiming it could provide additional range, yet actual implementation has yet to occur. Meanwhile, Sunflare has emerged at the Consumer Electronics Show with a practical solution—a Solar Car Film that wraps the entire Cybertruck, potentially adding 12-18 miles of range under optimal circumstances. This solution, priced at $10,000, is aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of the Cybertruck, particularly in off-grid scenarios.
The concept of a solar-powered Cybertruck seemed to have been lost until now, with Sunflare's innovation bringing it back into contention. Their Copper Indium Gallium Selenide solar panels promise to generate power while the vehicle is stationary and could be particularly useful for off-the-grid camping. However, whether this will prove to be a viable enhancement for reducing the Cybertruck's energy consumption in practical use remains uncertain, given the vehicle's heavy weight and relatively low existing range.
