Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered his military not to begin the ceasefire in Gaza until Hamas issues the names of the captives to be released.
In a statement shortly afterwards, Hamas blamed the delay in handing over the names on technical field reasons, affirming its commitment to the ceasefire deal.
Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reported that international pressure makes it very difficult for both Hamas and Israel not to proceed with the ceasefire.
Netanyahu warned Israel retains the right to resume war in Gaza if the ceasefire's second phase proves fruitless, indicating US backing for such actions.
