My Morning Jacket release dynamic new song "Squid Ink"
Briefly

My Morning Jacket has released a new single titled 'Squid Ink' from their upcoming album, set to drop on March 21st via ATO Records. The song, infused with funk elements driven by bassist Tom Blankenship and drummer Patrick Hallahan, culminates in a powerful guitar solo. Frontman Jim James describes the track as representing the struggle to escape a negative environment, likening such negativity to a squid's ink cloud. The album also includes the lead single 'Time Waited', and the band has announced a US tour starting on April 1st.
The idea behind 'Squid Ink' is that certain people carry a negativity that fills the room like a squid shooting ink into the water. It's about trying to get out of those murky waters by believing in yourself.
As vocalist/guitarist Jim James explained, the track describes the feeling of pushing through a gloomy environment, with the music building to an explosive guitar solo.
My Morning Jacket will kick off their supporting US tour on April 1st, with a fan club pre-sale beginning today and general on-sale starting February 14th.
The album featuring 'Squid Ink' and its lead single 'Time Waited' is set to be released on March 21st via ATO Records.
