Since President Trump took office in January 2025, mass deportation plans have intensified, threatening the futures of DACA recipients like Jazmin, a young nurse. DACA, established in 2012, has offered some relief to immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, but recent initiatives have led to uncertainty. Jazmin recounted her childhood journey from Mexico and expressed her struggles with anxiety over the continuation of her status. Despite hard-won achievements, the looming threat of deportation has cast a shadow over her aspirations and those of many others in similar situations.

As a DACA recipient, I’ve worked hard and become a nurse, but now my future feels uncertain with deportation threats looming.
