Liz Mitchell, the original lead singer of Boney M, performed 'Rivers of Babylon' at a special Westminster event, captivating attendees including her 96-year-old mother. The celebration honored her MBE for contributions to music and charity and recognized Windrush pioneers. Hosted by Dawn Butler MP, the event featured emotional renditions of beloved songs and highlighted Liz's journey from Jamaica to international stardom. Since Boney M's breakthrough in the late 1970s, she has been the only consistent voice associated with the group's massive hits, contributing to over 100 million records sold.
It was a truly special moment at Westminster to hear Liz perform, and the genuine emotion really connected with everyone there.
Despite being a four-piece, Liz is the only member of the group whose voice appears on all the hits, including Sunny, Rasputin, Daddy Cool.
