Warner Bros. Games has announced that MultiVersus, a free-to-play brawler, will go offline after its fifth and last season, which runs from February 4, 2025, to May 30, 2025. After this period, players can only access offline modes against AI or in local co-op. To enjoy the offline version, users must log in during the final season. The game, which faced declining player counts leading to its initial shutdown in 2023, is ending in-game purchases immediately, although players may still use remaining currency until the season concludes.
To gain access to the offline version of MultiVersus, players need to download the latest version and log in during season five to unlock a local save file.
The Super Smash Bros.-like MultiVersus first launched in an open beta in 2022, but it went offline in 2023 after its player count dropped before relaunching in May 2024.
MultiVersus will go offline at the end of its fifth season on May 30, 2025, only allowing local co-op or AI matches afterwards.
Warner Bros. has announced that MultiVersus is ending in-game purchases as of today, marking a significant shift for its ongoing operations.
