According to the Santa Clara County sheriff's office, the 33-year-old inmate was found unresponsive at the Elmwood Correctional Facility on Sunday evening. Despite receiving CPR immediately, he was pronounced dead at a hospital on Wednesday. This unfortunate incident marks the ninth in-custody death this year in the county.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the inmate's death. The sheriff's office stated that there is no suspicion of foul play, indicating that the death may be related to medical issues rather than violence.
