Apple has agreed to pay $95 million to settle a class action lawsuit stemming from allegations that Siri unintentionally recorded private conversations over a decade.
Allegations claim that Siri recorded snippets of confidential conversations when unintentional activation occurred, subsequently sharing them with human reviewers and advertisers.
Eligible members of the class-action suit could receive up to $20 per Siri-enabled device, with an estimated tens of millions of potential claimants.
Despite settling, Apple maintains its stance of denying any wrongdoing related to the alleged privacy violations linked to its Siri voice assistant.
