The platforms will now display how long an account has been active, its origin country, and mutual followers to help users gauge safety.
In response to sextortion scams, Instagram DMs will blur nudity and issue warnings about sharing sensitive images, enhancing user safety with proactive measures.
Meta has also partnered with Thorn for resources and support to empower teens facing sextortion while having removed 70,000 profiles linked to these scams.
