An employee of the Morgan Hill Safeway expressed excitement for the winners, noting that any win is a joyful event for the store, especially during the gift-giving season.
Lottery officials confirmed that the winning ticket matched all five regular numbers, but not the Mega number, leaving the massive $760 million jackpot unclaimed.
With the top prize still unclaimed and growing, Friday's Mega Millions jackpot is projected to reach at least $825 million, attracting even more lottery players.
