"The building is a total loss," Dowling told Boston.com. "So now it's just trying to help all the residents out with some kind of temporary shelter and then obviously permanent shelter moving forward."
"The heavy fire was stubborn and took hours to put out," Fire Chief John Dowling noted, emphasizing the challenges faced by the firefighting team.
"Once the fire was knocked down, we were able to go back in there. We did find a cat, so all animals were accounted for," Dowling confirmed.
Firefighters acted quickly and effectively as people were exiting the building when they arrived, ensuring there were no injuries reported.
