Cuban told Stewart that he avoided guidance from the Harris campaign, asserting, "I would not let the Harris campaign tell me what to say... I don’t care." In doing so, he remained authentic on economic issues.

Cuban elaborated on his view against the proposed taxation of unrealized gains, arguing, "I publicly went against the Harris campaign on a plan to tax unrealized capital gains... it would kill the stock market and negatively impact small businesses."
