Natalya Ivanovna Mazulina, a freight forwarding manager, faced indictment for facilitating illegal shipments of industrial equipment to Russia, violating U.S. export laws post-invasion of Ukraine.
U.S. Attorney Breon Peace stated that evading U.S. export regulations presents a danger to national security, emphasizing law enforcement's commitment to prevent such actions by individuals and corporations.
From December 2022 to the present, Mazulina allegedly conspired with Russian partners to ship controlled items unlawfully, using intermediary countries to evade sanctions.
At one point, Mazulina acknowledged to her colleagues that payments were funneled through banks in third-party countries to hide the involvement of sanctioned entities.
