Man due in court following discharge of firearm during incident in Co Clare

"Damage was caused to the property, but no one was injured. A male in his 40s was arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939," a garda spokesperson said.

"He was later released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. During follow-up inquiries, a second male aged in his 20s was subsequently arrested... He has since been charged."

"The investigation is ongoing."
