Man assaulted after elaborate Facebook Marketplace scam turns violent
Briefly

Stanley Yee, the victim, explained, "I could still see the cash on the dashboard so I tried to reach into the car to grab my cash. I had half my body inside the car when he suddenly decided to speed up," detailing the unexpected violence he faced during the attempted theft. Witnesses quickly surrounded him as he hit the ground, incapacitated from the fall.
After the incident, Yee stated, "They basically said they couldn't lay charges after he refunded me the money as I had no financial loss and I had put my own body in the car," illustrating the complexities of pursuing legal action in such scams.
Despite Yee's efforts, he found himself in a frustrating position, stating, "I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I feel compelled to share my experience after seeing the same camera re-listed on Facebook Marketplace," highlighting the ongoing risk to others.
