Macy's closing 66 stores, including Upstate NY location: See list
Briefly

Closing any store is never easy, but as part of our Bold New Chapter strategy, we are closing underproductive Macy's stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go-forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service.
Macy's originally planned to close about 50 to 55 stores by the end of January, but increased the number as the deal-making environment remains favorable.
The company confirmed Thursday that 66 locations will close as part of the department store chain's 'Bold New Chapter' strategy, announced last year.
Macy's is still expected to close about 150 stores altogether by the end of 2026, as it aims to drive sustainable, profitable sales growth.
