Lula launches alliance to combat world hunger as Brazil hosts G20
Briefly

In a world that produces nearly 6n tonnes of food every year, this is unacceptable. It is the task of those gathered around this table to address this shameful scourge that dishonours humanity.
Lula emphasized the need for a Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, pointing out that with 733 million undernourished people worldwide, the current situation is a collective failure.
Recalling the first G20 meeting in 2008, Lula declared, 'Sixteen years later, I regret to say that the world is worse,' highlighting armed conflicts, displacement, and inequality as pressing issues.
With 81 countries backing the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, Lula insisted this initiative is central to Brazil's presidency, stressing that hunger and poverty are the ultimate tragedies.
