Emergency services responded promptly, treating one man with extensive burns, who was later transferred to a Dublin hospital for specialized care. Fortunately, no customers were present during the incident. A local shopkeeper reported loud bangs and considerable structural damage to the restaurant’s building, which is over 160 years old, with Gardaí now conducting ongoing investigations into the cause of the blast.
One man had a lot of burns, his hands, face, and neck bandaged up like a mummy by emergency crews before he was taken to hospital.
A neighbouring shopkeeper described hearing loud bangs that shook the furniture, and rushed out to witness significant structural damage to the Imperial Blue Indian takeaway.
