Legoland Florida to lay off 234 performers and entertainment workers
Briefly

Legoland Florida will lay off 234 workers, predominantly performers, to enhance competitiveness in the central Florida theme park sector. The layoffs, effective from late March through early April, will notably affect the entertainment workforce, which constitutes a significant portion of their staff. With about 1,500 employees currently, the move aligns with a strategy by owner Merlin Entertainment to utilize an external company for some entertainment services while preserving a core in-house team to cater to brand and guest experiences throughout the year.
We will continue to have a core in-house entertainment offering, which we will scale up to meet our brand and guest experiences during the year.
The permanent layoffs would start at the end of March and last through the beginning of April.
