Kyogo Furuhashi has completed a transfer from Celtic to Rennes for a reported £10 million, concluding a successful spell where he scored 85 goals. He signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Ligue 1 side, which is struggling in the league. The move allows Jota to return to Celtic, having previously struggled at Al-Ittihad and Rennes. Kyogo expressed a desire to leave Celtic earlier, while Jota aims to contribute significantly to the team after his remarkable tenure before moving abroad.
Brendan Rodgers had revealed on Friday that Kyogo had indicated his desire to end his three-year spell in Glasgow a few months ago.
Kyogo, who joined Celtic in July 2021 in the same window as Jota, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the French club.
He has also had the most 'big' chances (26), scoring nine of those, while only two players have attempted more shots than his 63.
Jota was originally signed by Ange Postecoglou on loan from Benfica in September 2021 and impressed as he scored 13 goals.
