Juxtapoz Magazine - Mirosaw Kijowicz's "Klatki", 1967
Briefly

In most of his films, Mirosław Kijowicz was interested in an issue that was important for many artists, although nowadays it has a different dimension: the issue of the individual's relationship to the system.
Klatki presents the problem of an enslaved individual's behavior and dignity through the lens of the relationship between the guard and the prisoner.
The film showcases three distinct sequences - a creative protest, an intellectual protest, and a biological protest, highlighting various forms of resistance.
An additional advantage of Klatki is the music by Krzysztof Komeda, who often collaborated with Kijowicz, enriching the film's emotional resonance.
