A new study is causing psychologists to reconsider the whole notion of "grandiose narcissism." Traditionally, psychologists have identified three major types of narcissism: agentic/grandiose narcissism, antagonistic/exploitative narcissism, and vulnerable/covert narcissism.
However, over time grandiose narcissists become less popular. The ideal may be combining strong agency with appreciative humility, challenging the traditional view of self-promotion.
