Irish woman scammed out of 4,000 by fraudsters: 'I want to prevent this happening to someone else'

The woman wanted to share her story to prevent others from falling victim to similar scams. She was targeted by a convincing call from someone claiming to be from HMRC.

Under extreme pressure and fearing for her future, she transferred £4,000 to the fraudsters, realizing too late that she had been scammed.

TSS helped the victim raise a complaint with her bank, resulting in a refund of £4,000 plus interest and £250 in compensation prior to FOS assessment.

Yasmin Johnstone from TSS emphasized the sophistication of these scams, like cloning police numbers, revealing how scammers exploit people's fears.
