Ted Price, the founder and president of Insomniac Games, has announced his retirement effective March end after leading the company for over 30 years. This transition, which Price indicated had been planned since last year, aims to allow new leadership to guide the studio's future. Insomniac, known for hit franchises like Ratchet & Clank and Resistance, was acquired by PlayStation in 2019 and is currently developing a Wolverine game. The new co-studio heads, Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang, have deep ties to the company, which Price believes is crucial for its continued success.
I actually made this decision last year. For me, after over 30 years of leading Insomniac, I felt it was simply time to step aside and let others pave the way for our team.
I believe strongly that for us to continue our success, we need leaders at the top who are intimately familiar with how we do things, leaders who have helped build our culture and our processes, and who have earned people's trust.
