GlobalFoundries and IBM reached a settlement over lawsuits concerning breach of contract and alleged misappropriation of trade secrets, with terms kept confidential.
The lawsuit claims IBM remained inactive for two and a half years concerning the alleged breach before finally initiating legal action against GlobalFoundries in 2021.
GlobalFoundries initiated its own lawsuit against IBM, alleging the latter misused manufacturing secrets and shared them with partners Intel and Rapidus.
Despite the legal disputes, the settlement opens the door for potential cooperation and new opportunities between GlobalFoundries and IBM.
